On Tuesday i had really bad pain on my lower back (right hand side), it hurt to walk, breathe in, sneeze and trying to get a good night sleep agony. I also felt queazy. I felt so bad yesterday Wednesday I went to my GP, who sent me to A&E.

Got to A&E given Tylex (which helped) seen doctor, did a urine test (which showed blood) then an x-ray. Still felt awful. Consultant called me with x-ray results (in front of my mum!!! which is ok) and told me it - is - poo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seen it on x-ray, she told me it was just constipation and my bowel was blocked. I asked (whilst feeling mortified) what can I do (also told her that part of my bowel was removed 13 yrs ago, she said possibly adhesions), she gave me laxatives and home I went. Stilll in pain, sat with family and never let on that I am sore. Have taken the laxatives as instructed but to be honest I poo each day so I don't know anymore ....

Yesterday didnt feel to bad,but feeling awful as day goes on - queasey a couple of hours ago, and threw up, now sat feeling not right with a really sore back and pain in lower right hand side. Today still have back pain and pain on movement. Can someone help there is no way in this world I will see a dr again, feel such a time waster.

By the way ( I didnt realise I had constipation, all to me was going well down there, I poo normally or so I thought, and have been since a&E - I said this to doc and she said you may not realise it) so I am full of s*** thats not going anywhere

The bottom line for me (if you will forgive the pun) is that on your visit you had blood in your urine!

I really hope they get this sorted for you, sounds just horrible.

dear OP - so glad you went back to your GP. I would have said that bloody urine and bowel difficulties are usually down to two separate things. The thing about abdominal pains is that they can be due to any of your internal organs - either in the pelvic region or higher up (deferred pain). I had ovarian problems and ended up on the renal ward twice before proper diagnosis. From personal experience; once you have been in A and E a couple of times - someone will click that maybe you need to be seen by a consultant for different investigations. I know that dealing with the pain/uncertainty in the meantime is difficult. Please don't let your visit to A and E put you off if you are becoming too uncomfortable. Take Care x

Thanks everyone, I am baffled and not very well still on the antibiotics which are helping and painkillers from GP'. I don't know what is wrong, on exertion (shopping with dd at weekend) it hurts and it hurts breathing in, (and have been going to loo as normal, which always have done)

Anyway back to GP tomorrow for bloods......... (working on a fixed term contract so worried about work :(

Just wanted to know how you are doing now? Are you feeling any better?

alis74 · 30/11/2011 17:53

Thank you for asking! I am not feeling good at all, seeing the gp again on Friday morning. I am back to work tomorrow which I promised I would (desk job so no running around or anything) and feel under pressure to be back, due to it being an ongoing temp contract (and jobs are thin on the ground at the moment) and also in private rental (which I have been fortunate to have been able to pay until February). Christmas presents bought etc

I dont get sick pay, and I have been toying with the idea of just not going back (applied for a lot of perm work).

I don't know what is wrong with me I don't look or feel normal, I am definitely not constipated, (even though x-ray said so) gp says its a kidney infection (my antibiotics are nearly finished still feel ill)

oh what to do!!! lol
