I've got the nasty little buggers too and I thought I read somewhere there's a procedure where the dr puts a kind of rubber band thing around them and they 'drop off'! I hope that's right, but I could be totally wrong - I'm waiting til I've had my second child, no point doing anything until then.

This sounds really bizarre,but it works and I was really desparate...
Wrap some warm mashed potato in some gauze and place over offending area.It must be the starch that draws some of the swelling out.It was very soothing and they did reduce quite dramatically after that.Good luck
