Harvey had his jabs at 2pm today, was fine til about 4.30 and has screamed ever since! How long does the reaction take to die down?

Is he tired Br?

codswallop · 04/11/2003 19:29

I mean has he got alittle beside himself?

Try giving him some calpol, it works wonders and can only do him good. Poor little mite - good luck.

Beccarollo · 04/11/2003 19:34

Yeah ive given him half a dose - think he is overtired coddy he normally sleeps alot but hasnt settled more than 10 minutes today im wearing him in the sling to hopefully get him off even for a few minutes to sort him out - seems to be working so far but i can feel the heat coming off his head poor thing

Give him the other half dose! Seriously, it is worth it and it won't hurt him. I also felt my ds was simply outraged with the whole situation for ages!

Beccarollo · 04/11/2003 20:04

Im saving the other half dose for later as they said that was all he was allowed to have without seeing a doc!

Oh Becca I hope he feels better soon. Bless him, I remember feeling guilty for days when ds1 had a similar reaction.

Beccarollo · 04/11/2003 20:10

Thats the thing DD didnt even flinch and showed no side effects at all I stupidly thought he would be the same - it hurts my heart when he cries like this he is settled for time being bless his little cottons!!

Oh god, am worried now ... dd had her 8wk jabs this morning, screamed blue murder and has been sleeping ever since ... i am armed with calpol in readiness for her waking ...

hope all is well now with harvey ....

FairyMum · 05/11/2003 14:29

My ds screamed from about 4 o'clock until well over midnight and was grumpy the whole of next day. This only happened on the first jab, he was fine on the second and third.

Hope he calms soon. I know it's not very nice

I had the same experience as Fairymum.

Welshmum · 05/11/2003 14:47

A GP friend advised me to give the calpol before the jabs and BF throughout. DD was fine - might just be her but I pass it on hoping it might of use to someone
