I have this friend, won't post too much as I could get outed by her in RL.

She is quite highly strung and I often feel exhausted by her, but hey that's what friends are for aye.

She says she's had 2 mini strokes, tbh I thought a stroke was a stroke and didn't realise you got mini ones and she says she has Bells Palsy.

She shows not physical signs or mental signs of having anything wrong.

Am I being ignorant?? I know someone who has had a stroke and there is paralysis in their arm and face.

I realise you don't always get this, and paralysis and strokes don't go hand in hand but can she have had 2 strokes and Bells Palsy and show no ill effects whatsoever??

Plus I don't really understand Bells Palsy

Bells palsy is facial paralysis. You would notice it as the eye droops and so does the mouth. Can be caused by strokes but viral infection is also indicated or the nerve that supplys that side of the face getting swollen in the skull bones and stopping working due to the pressure.

Mini strokes are Transient Ischeamic Attacks, they leave damage but it can go away but the elderly mentally ill patients I deal with have TIAs that are referred to as vascular dementia.

Strokes and paralysis do go hand in hand, but the paralysis can go away again and patients often re-gain speech but will have one arm that is "dead".

I leave you to your own conclusions!

yes, someone could have a mini-stroke without showing any obvious physical signs afterwards. bells palsy can get better very quickly. you'ld expect some medical follow up after a mini-stroke.
