Hello misdee,
He's coping well on the whole thanks. He's insisting on doing his own injections and blood prick tests.
He keeps getting very angry at small things though. He has anger bubbling under the surface and lots of 'why me' attitude.
He's also scared sometimes (particularly at night) and cries. It's upsetting because whereas I used to be able to kiss/hug him better for pretty much any worry, it doiesn't work now and he keeps on crying.

Thanks for thinking of me btw.

Aloha · 07/01/2006 23:01

What's wrong with him Spidermama?

misdee · 07/01/2006 23:02

are things more under control? its good he is doing his own tests and injections. hope things get better soon.

Have been thinking of you and DS too, SM - sorry it all seems so hard atm. I'm sure as he gets used to it, and his levels stabilise, he'll feel better about it. It's really hard though, I feel for you and for him

misdee · 07/01/2006 23:03

hey hunker, whens the baby due?

OP posts:
Spidermama · 07/01/2006 23:04

He was dx-ed with type 1 diabetes just before Christmas Aloha.

hunkermunker · 07/01/2006 23:05

A week today!

Spidermama · 07/01/2006 23:05

How's your diabetes Hunker? Will you be rid of it after the birth?

Spidermama · 07/01/2006 23:06

Is baby the right way round now?

Dropinthe · 07/01/2006 23:06

SM-Feel bad have not been on here to know what has been happening with your ds--forgive my ignorance but are we talking about diabetes?

Dropinthe · 07/01/2006 23:06

x posts!

Dropinthe · 07/01/2006 23:07

Have you still got my email address SM?

Aloha · 07/01/2006 23:08

Oh, I am sorry. How worrying for you and your ds.

hunkermunker · 07/01/2006 23:10

Yes, baby's head down and diabetes is largely under control - it's likely to go after I've had the baby, but I'm more likely than someone who's never had it to get Type 2 when I'm older - also have polycystic ovarian syndrome which increases the risk anyway (and is probably why I have it now).

I really do feel for your little boy, SM - I wish there was something I could do to take it away

Spidermama · 07/01/2006 23:20

Me too Hunker. I wish I could give him my pancreas.

Good luck with your birth by the way. I look forward to hearing about your newist little Munker.

Hello Drop. Happy New year. Yes I have your email address and will no doubt catch up soon.

hunkermunker · 07/01/2006 23:21

Thank you. Just trying to think if there's anything MN can do to cheer him up? Is there a particular celebrity he likes? Would meeting someone famous help? Does he support a particular football team? Am sure there's someone with a contact somewhere that would take his mind off things for a bit.
