for spacecadet. Pneumonia is not good and she needs her rest.

I would if I were close enough, but sadly I don't even drive so couldn't get any meals to her if I tried.

How are you today then, SC? What do you fancy? I do a mean shepherd's pie, if that appeals...

CAT me with where to get it to and how many it needs to be for...

LadySherlockofLGJ · 05/01/2006 13:04

....

cazzybabs · 05/01/2006 13:05

This is really a pointless post as I don't have a car...but if I did I would be willing to cook!

Sorry

Caribbeanqueen · 05/01/2006 13:24

sc, did you get my CAT?

spacecadet · 05/01/2006 13:29

CB, yes i sent you an email, didnt you get it?

spacecadet · 05/01/2006 15:22

just wanted to say what a lovely idea this was marslady and LGJ, but i couldnt seriously expect anyone to do this for me. im flabbergasted that 2 people have offered and all of this has reinforced in me what a fab bunch of people you are on MN, but seriously, dh is going back to work tomorrow and im sending him shopping tonight for a job lot of ready meals, and eldest dd can bung them in the microwave when she gets home from school.
thanks everyone for your kindness.
space.
p.s, i wont do any housework and will arrange for ds2 to be taken to and from school tomorrow so that i dont have to leave the house.

Gizmo · 05/01/2006 15:24

So you don't like shepherd's pie then?

stleger · 05/01/2006 15:40

I lived in Cambridge years ago. Look after yourself, hope you are feeling better soon and can get plenty of rest (or even some rest!)

puff · 05/01/2006 15:54

Please take very good care of yourself sc - one of my friends was taken very ill due to pneumonia and in hospital for 10 days. Do as little as poss (not easy advice to follow I know).

spacecadet · 05/01/2006 16:02

gizmo-it was a lovely offer, thanks, but i guess im too proud for my own good

spacecadet · 05/01/2006 16:02

i actually love shephards pie!

Caribbeanqueen · 05/01/2006 16:05

No problem, hope you are better soon.

Gizmo · 05/01/2006 18:22

Ach well, I'll have to find some other time to impress you with my cottage pie skills, then. But I have had pneumonia a long, long time ago...so you do have my deepest sympathy.

Look after yourself.

desperatehousewife · 05/01/2006 18:56

I think this is a really lovley idea and could make such a difference to Spacey. x

MarsLady · 06/01/2006 19:47

Personally I think you should ignore her pathetic rejections of food and pop round with a pot of something.

(I didn't say pot, I said a pot of something!)

MarsLady · 09/01/2006 11:47

So now that Spacey is finally in hospital details here , I think that it's time to go back to the original plan.

So, can any of you local ladies (or gents) cook up a meal for the family (you're welcome to cook more than one)?

Thank you!

Gizmo · 09/01/2006 11:52

Does anyone have her actual address? I have food in the freezer for SC family but no address to deliver it to although SC and I have exchanged emails over the weekend.

Serendippity · 09/01/2006 12:06

i can do beans on toast! but that's about it!

I'm in Cherry Hinton, where does SpaceCadet live?
Feel free to CAT me, i'd like to help if i can.
Love to SpaceCadet and family.

(i was Cat82 btw)

LadySherlockofLGJ · 09/01/2006 12:09

Serendipity

She is in ELy about 20/ 30 miles from you, so not too far.

Serendippity · 09/01/2006 12:29

Oh i am sorry, i don't drive it would be difficult for me to get there

Serendippity · 09/01/2006 12:30

Could i send some cold food by post or something? Ham, sausage rolls that kind of thing?
Or is that a stupid idea?

MarsLady · 09/01/2006 15:01

will look up her addy when home from school run. It's in my book of things to do lol! (the address I mean!)

OP posts:
Caribbeanqueen · 09/01/2006 15:21

Have added to other thread. Let me know if I can do anything.

Prufrock · 09/01/2006 15:39

Marslady - can you let me know too - I'm not too far away and would be happy to cook/go over to help out (although as that would be accompanied by a 3 and 22 month old I'm not sure how restful that would be for her!)

MarsLady · 09/01/2006 18:25

Will do!

She's been released from hospital and needs to rest, so the meals would be appreciated.

Don't take no for an answer. Blimming nurses think that they can struggle on (yes Spacey... you're meant to read that!)
