Anyone done the RNID phoneline hearing test?

What did you think? What were the results?

I found it very hard to hear, and thought I'd failed dreadfully, but my hearing was actually "within normal range". Maybe I'm just good at guessing!

Just tried it. Loved the bit at the end where they said my hearing was ok and Eamon Holmes said 'well that's good isn't it' in patronising manner.

But o is not a digit (for 0) - zero is the correct word. Really gets to me!

Is it a recording?

I already thought i had some hearing loss,so tried it twice, once in each ear and as expected hearing normal in one ear and not so good in the right.

Oooh, will get DH to do this one. He's always had some hearing loss (can't hear crickets, for example - too low or too high is out of his range) but I'm sure its getting worse

At the risk of sounding stupid .....surely phones vary in their quality of sound and you can adjust the volume on some phones so how can a test over the phone give a true result?
Thats been bugging me from when I saw the ad so thought I'd ask

I'm sure my hearing is poor. At pubs and parties and so on (with a lot of background noise) I feel I am constantly having to watch people's lips to understand what they're saying. So I was very surprised at my result.

Maybe I should try it with the other ear.

I always thought my hearing was good, but when I tried it has told me I have below average hearing!! Maybe it didn't help I had my DS's (2yrs and 6months) jabbering in the background!!
Just sent DH to try it as he is always mishearing me!
