My dad has just been diagnosed. He is 87 years old, and has enjoyed a healthy life. He had a pacemaker fitted about 2 1/2 years ago and has become more frail since then.

Does anyone else have an elderly parent with this? Did getting a diagnosis and suitable medication make a positive difference to their quality of life?

Just after a bit of reassurance really.

Hi hun, sorry to hear that your dad has been diagnosed with parkinsons. My sister in laws mum was diagnosed a few months ago, but they caught it at an early stage, from what i remember she was put on medication, and was told to move around and keep active, and that with the medication has helped her alot.
