I am booked for the flu jab tomorow, Im abit scared ( dont know why) I have hyperthyroidism, obviously the dr wont give it as I dont qualify, so I have booked at the chemist. Should I be having it? is it safe.

I don't know about hyperthyroidism, but it has the same strains of flu in it as last years one did. I had it this year and last year and apart from a sore arm I had no symptoms.

I have to have vaccinations for work so this year I've had Hep A jabs, last ones thank god, and Hep b is due next march. I just feel over tired for a few days but it's better than getting the illness itself.

I had this done at Boots yesterday and again was fine, apart from a sore, stiff arm. The pharmacist asks various questions beforehand & you complete a short form so definitely tell him/her about your condition and concerns and see what they think.

Thanks guys, I guess I will have it done, as I don't want to have the flu. Me and hubby had it last year, and we were bad for 10 days, but they were hell, and I promised myself I would get it done this year. And also I have booked a short break in december, so I want to be well for that.
