Has anyone had this?

So i feel sick, weak and dizzy. I have been bleeding for 13 days. When i say bleeding, sorry i know it is TMI, i mean on 3 days i put in a super tampon and the blood continued to pour. On one afternoon i went through 5 pairs of trousers. I ended up wearing a maternity pad and a super + tampon and was still changing hourly. I am now 3 hourly on a regular pad.

When will it stop?! I am fed up. Spoke to doctor, on the phone!, who was full of sympathy and prescribed me some large pills that have not stopped the bleeding but have at least stopped the cramps (i was using dh's prescription pain killers)

Anyone know of a miracle cure?! Pretty please from a desperate Mrs Pear

This sounds quite literally like 'bloody hell' Mrs Pear, poor you! I haven't experienced bleeding to this extent so can only send sympathy, but i am sure someone more experienced will be along soon with some answers.

Can't believe someone can bleed that much and still be standing to be honest. Really hope this subsides very soon (((hugs))).

This sounds horrendous. It may be stating the obvious, so sorry if you've already done it, but you're probably running low on iron, so it's worth going back to the doctor and getting some bloods taken, as if you're anaemic you'll be feeling worse. Even if you're not anaemic, your iron stores will be taking a hit and you will get anaemic if it carries on. I hope you're feeling better and it stops soon. If not, I'd get back to the doc.

How old are you MrsP?
I am in the Peri (age 48),and put my slaughterhouse periods down to that, but am now being investigared for fibroids.
Are they really painful?

Bugsy2 · 15/11/2011 15:28

Good grief, that doesn't sound right. I'm sure that comes into the category of abnormal uterine bleeding and as such warrants further investigation.
Definitely take some iron supplements.

ditto bugsy - if it's not your usual period, then I'd class it as abnormal - going through 5 pairs of trousers and still going strong doesn't sound right.

Gosh - I thought I had heavy periods but you poor thing. Hope you get it sorted soon.
