External piles?

I have namechanged as people in real world know me! Last Wednesday a pea sized lump appeared on the edge of my anus. I had suffered from a bit of constipation the week before that. It is still there. I have been putting Germoloids ointment on it as I am assuming it is an external hemorrhoid. It does not hurt to go to the loo, no blood. It is slightly sore at times - can be aware of it when sitting or walking. No pain. Will this go away over time?

I looked in a mirror yesterday - much to dh's horror! It is at the entrance and looks slightly blue. It has not got bigger or smaller since I pstated with the ointment on Saturday. Any other tips to encourage it to go? I have googled, but as we know that is always a big mistake!!

Please can someone reassure me. It's still there and feeling more sore - not pain just aware of it. I think it might be slightly bigger.

It may take a week or more to go. Advice is to drink plenty of fluid and take something like fybogel.
