Does anyone here take pregablin

its an anti epileptic drug and also used for nerve pain.

I've been put on it but read on the info sheet that it can commonly cause weight gain. Just wondering if people have found this or not?

Also does it make you drowsy. I'm very sleepy 24/7 at present but am taking massive doses of codeine and morphine so not sure what to blame.

My husband has been taking Pregabilin for a few months. The main side effect has been a 'swimmy' head /dizziness. The good news is that this passes as you become adjusted to taking the drug. DH has put on a small amount of weight, although this could be due to other drugs he is currently taking. He did not find it caused significant drowsiness and managed to continue working without disrupting his schedule.

He has been taking it for neuropathic pain and he has found it to be effective. The only issue is that you have to take the doses 12 hours apart and he did find that he suffered with breakthrough pain between doses.

Overall, he found that the benefits of Pregabilin far outweighed the side effects.

I was on it for a few months with codeine, morphine and tramadol. I didn't experience weight gain. To be honest, despite being on a high dosage, it didn't really work for me.

Weight gain is a very common side effect of mirtazepine so it may well be responsible for leonie's friend's weight gain.

I can't cope with gaining half a stone never mind four! Am struggling to lose weight as already overweight. I'm seeing gp tomorrow so will ask for advice.

I took 50mg 3x daily for about a year - again the benefits way outweighed the initial side effects (they did take some getting used to!).

I did put some weight on, but I had problems that meant exercising was really difficult and I was feeling sorry for myself, with a bit more work I could probably have kept it off.

I take 300mg a day, in two doses of 150mg each. I'm always falling asleep, but I take a lot of other stuff too so it's hard to tell which might be causing what.

I've put on weight, but I think it's just as likely to be due to my inability to walk any distance or take much exercise, as due to any drugs I take. I don't eat much, but I'm clearly not exercising the excess away Grin
