What can i give my four week old for his cold? He is sleeping a lot too, should i be waking him to feed or just leaving him for that extra hour or so?

I would try to feed him at that age still. Try in the bathroom with the shower running. I've heard people suck some phlegm out or use saline in some way or a sucker thing. NEver tried any myself.

Sucker things are great - like a rubber bulb with a small tube. If his nose is crusty (sorry if tmi) then squirt a little saline up first or just use to suck out the loose snot. Wouldn't let him go more than 3-4 hours between feeds.

Superdrug sells a bulb w/small tube and saline solution in a box called 'Little Noses'.

i'm in the same boat i have a 5 week old ds with a cold we've got a sucker (nasal aspirator) and put saline drops up usually before each feed, warning he will hate this but its being cruel to be kind as they like having a clear nose. also raise the end of his moses basket or cot while he's asleep which helps him breathe easier. Hope he's better soon.
