Boots Flu Jab

I have just booked the seasonal 'flu jab at Boots and asked my friend about it as she has just had it done. She said she was a bit concerned as the pharmacist didn't wipe her skin with alcohol or anything first! I thought this sounded a bit dodgy; does anyone else think so? Thanks

Hi, my DH does the jabs at Boots. I asked him exactly the same question as yours. His answer was that they are trained not to as some people can react to the wipes . The needle is sterile and sharp so goes straight in. Anyway, he did mine and it was fine.

Hmm interesting, thank you. Maybe I can ask for a wipe at my own risk...Even my vet wipes my horse before vaccinating so it kind of seems a bit risky. I will just have to have a good soak in the bath first! Thanks again :-)

had my jab at the doctors at the flu clinic and the doc didn't wipe my arm,am sure it's fine
