Anyone care to diagnose me?

The past few days I've had a wierd back pain on the right hand side, up under my lower ribs, which has eased off today, but I had a sudden urge to go to the toilet and when I did there was some orange oily stuff floating on the top afterwards, which worries me a little. I'm now feeling a bit nauseous but am guessing that's all in my mind.

I'm thinking I've just eaten a crap diet the past few days and need to eat a little healthier.

Any other ideas?

gallbladder?

fuzzynavel · 08/11/2011 14:05

Yes, does sound a bit like gallbladder problems. I'd advise you ring up and get an appointment for the doctors.

LilRedWG · 08/11/2011 15:00

Honestly? Oh pants, I don't want anything. :(

Thanks. I think I will see how it goes the next few days and if no better will see the doctor.

He/she will take a scalpel to you right then and there to get a better look either put your mind at rest as this has been going on for a few days.

I only said go because gall bladders, whilst nothing major, can be very painful tricky little blighters.

fuzzynavel · 08/11/2011 15:11

extract the "either", silly me, at work and multitasking very badly Confused

LilRedWG · 08/11/2011 15:12

LOL - Thanks, I'm such a drama queen.

That makes two of us then! I have had many an imaginary terminal disease due to using internet to self diagnose.

LilRedWG · 08/11/2011 18:30

In all seriousness, if it is my gallbladder what will it entail? Diet changes, drugs, amputation of head?

OP posts:
fuzzynavel · 10/11/2011 15:49

Definitely the head!

To be honest I don't know. Two of my friends have had theirs removed. Don't think they were told to do anything. Most of the time it just settles down on its own, but if not it's whipped out.

LilRedWG · 10/11/2011 18:57

I've felt fine since so I'll just see how it goes. Thanks for listening. :o

Op my mother just had gall stones and said it was pretty painful and required an operation to remove it. (hers was very bad and she had to have an ambulance in the end as she was in agony consultant said it was a very bad case)

Er not really helping am I?! My point was to reassure you that that as far as I know is the worst case situation.

peration to remove it was done via keyhole out the next day now fit as a lop.

Kellamity · 10/11/2011 19:00

If it's gallstones you will have an ultra sound scan before they doing anything surgical. Gallstones are extremely painful Sad

You say you have eaten crap the last few days, have you been drinking enough fluid?

nomiddlename · 10/11/2011 19:08

I thikn the orange stuff is undigested fat from your gall bladder not working correctly.

Stop eating any saturated fat and see if it stops the pain.

Go to GP asap for a referral as the list for waiting for the op is huge. Even if it's not that, you can then rule it out.

nomiddlename · 10/11/2011 19:10

I had my gallbladder removed in Germany so very quick system, whereas in the UK they monitor it for a good old while and give you a scan. When I had my op 9 years ago, the waiting time in the UK was a year!

If you do get really bad pain, just go to A & E whilst in the middle of it and they might whip it out there and then (that's what my GP said whilst I was waiting to go to germany).
