Finally went to doctors at special sat surgery in Hospital today for baba, as was behaving like a different baby past 72 hrs. Unable to passify her or get her to sleep for days as so unsettled & everyone said "oh thats normal". posted thread on feeding topic as she wasn't feeding to well at all and then throwing up what ever she had.Realised she had a weezing, crackly cough for 2 days , but no real temprature.
Feel such relief as I now know what she has and why she has been v unsettled, but feel bad I didnt catch this all earlier, & have to give her antibiotics and mouth drops. I also felt she wasnt the type to cry for nothing. Why did I not listen to instinct??
Does any one have any remedies for soothing her throat apart from warm water between feeds, as she coughs and cries & tends to bring up catarhh in middle of night.Does the water induce the possetting???
Also upset as another doctor didnt detect the thrush last Monday when I took her at start of cold.He also didnt say there was infection & now doctor today says there is.
Useless man, & he is the baby doctor at my surgery so have to take her to him for 8 wk check in couple of weeks . Also the bloody HV who is a battle axe will be there too (another whole story on thread under feeding about her!!).Also had a rant about him on 2nd feeding thread!!! A different Health visitor also didnt detect it yesterday at another local clinic I visited to get away from battle axe & another thing she said that baby should be feeding more as only put 30z on in 9days, but of course she wont feed well, the thrush has been making her retch & cold makes it uncomfortable. What would they have me do to my poor little thing ,take the teat off & pour it down her throat !aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggghh How crap can care be sometimes, can none of them be more thourough, sensitive and caring. I am sooooooooooooo frustrated, you can probably tell from my posts that go from one thing to another. MUST CALM DOWN!!

No advice but I hope your little one is better soon. If a doctor didn't recognise the problem then what chance did YOU have?? Good luck.

How often are you getting her weighed?

I had thrush with ds1 and theyt gave me just stuff for him and not me so I kept reinfectng him - you really would think that they have this sussed by now......

what a relief its all solved tho.

Every week at the mo, as the HV's seem quite firm that I return. But this time I had left it 9 days. I think its good she put wieght on depsite being ill. Can Hv'S stop using the word "should", they are not textbook experiments!!

I think I have only been 4 times with my 7 moth -e r. what would happen if you didnt go?

You do not have to obbey your HV!
"as the HV's seem quite firm that I return" - do you think she'd send in the police
Getting your baby weighed like this isn't helping you - is it? If he poos and wees often, looks like his clothes are getting too small..... then he is fine

You sound just like my mum, r u??!!! Yes her babygros(cant spell) do seem to get to small every so often. I just seem to have lost my confidence in myself at the mo, it is all so new and disarming.
