dd has a tiny brown splotch like a birthmark (not at all raised) on the outside of her inner 'lips' . She has had it for a while. Don't really want to take her to the docs (too embarrassing for her) but am worried. It is irregular in shape.

Probably is a birthmark then

My ds has the only way to descibe it is a splodgy mark on his tummy, quite big aswell but faint...so it just looks like a dirty brown mark.

Anyway mentioned to the hv about this when it was more prominant and she said it was just the pigment in his skin not to worry aboutit but if I was to go and see the gp.

Have a word with your gp....thats what they are there for.

I don't feel worried anymore but I do keep an eye on it to see if it changes.

My DS is 17 weeks old and a few weeks ago a small red mark appeared in his back, it has since got bigger and light brown in colour. Did anyone else notice it at birth or did they develop later likle my DS!

Birthmarks can appear after birth- which I didn't know either. I thought ds2 had a bloodblister at 6 weeks, and now at 6 months he has a full on strawberry birthmark!
Sounds like it could be a birthmark or skin pigmentation.

sounds liek a birthmark. SOmetimes they can be very small and so aren't really noticed until older. I have three, and two of them I didn't notice until I was eight years old or so.
