Gluten intolerance- TMI

I have been suffering lately from constipation and (this is the tmi bit) really bad wind and lots of slimy mucus.
Found a slight improvement giving up gluten, but just had a blood test which came back clear for coeliac disease (I had been eating gluten for 6 weeks before the blood test).
Do I diagnose myself with a "mild" intolerance and give up wheat, or is there anything else it could be? Thank you.

Sounds like mild IBS?

(1) try peppermint oil tablets

(2) less wheat, less sugar and more fibre in your diet

(3) more exercise

HTH!

Can IBS make you mucusy? I'm not in any pain. Would hate to give up sugar though sure it would be good for me!

Yes I think it can - but I am not a doctor!

You can't give up sugar. But sugary and floury foods (bread and cakes!) can be a trigger in my experience.

Well giving up wheat did seem to help so I will try the capsules. I like peppermint tea, so I guess that helps too. Thank you.

Bump for any other ideas?
