What could these spots be?

I've noticed dd2 scratting today and when I have looked at one side of her head there are about half dozen spots, they look really sore and are annoying her, I've not changed shampoo or anything and she hasn't got nits any ideas?

Are they near the ear?? I assume you have thought of chicken pox?

no, they aren't near the ear, she has had chicken pox and has none on her body, she has now got more, i can't describe them really as she has scratched and scratched and the tops are off now but they look soooooooo sore
