Asyouknow mum had the operation and they cleared the mechanical valve, she was doing great untill this evening when her lungs filled up with fluid again, so it looks as if the other valve has gone now. there doing tests tonight and tommorrow but if it has i dont honestly think they will do another op, she only had 20% chance of surviving the last one but i dont know what the alternative is. So again were all on the edge of our seats scared to death about the outcome.

I have spoken to her but shes on alot of drugs so shes not really with it.

oh, how awful for you and your mum. I am very sorry to hear this. I do not know the full story, but I remember seeing fostermum's posts and know she has been around on mumsnet for a quite a while and has helped others here a lot.

I do hope the doctors can do something to reverse this setback, and do it soon. I'll be thinking of her - and you - and hoping for the best.

I truly hope that your mum's prognosis is much better than you fear. What a terribly worrying time for you all.

Good news! her valves arn't leaking! the pipes she got in her kneck that are supposed to go into her heart have gone into her lungs causing the pain and fluid. They are taking the pipes out and she may be able to come home today! Thanks for al your support i know it will mean alot to her.
