Arthritis in knee

I have terrible grating and clicking in my right knee. I injured it when I was a child by being knocked over by a car.

I'm only 41 and am worried about the prognosis because it seems to be getting worse Sad It does ache sometimes.

I'm a bit overweight, but not obese. I have lost some weight recently, but this isn't going to go away even if I lose more.

What treatment is there out there for osteoarthritis of the knee? Is it worth seeing the GP or will I just be fobbed off?

Theres lots of things that can be done, so go to your GP and ask to be referred to an orthopaedic surgeon. They'll do an MRI and go from there depending on what it shows.

Could just be you need a cartilage trim which is really quick surgery

Ta, I will see the GP next week because it seems to be getting worse Sad I'm panicking a bit because of my age. These knees have to last me a bit longer and I'm on my feet all day in my job.
