my cousin's wife needs a bone marrow transplant and needs a matching donor... if I tested as a matched donor could I specify that it goes to her?

No you cannot specify that it goes just to her and the odds of you being a match are really slim. However the power of the donor register is that the more people are on it the better the chances are for everyone who needs a match finding one. Sign up any way and encourage everyone you know to do the same! Getting on the register just takes 5 minutes and a saliva sample. If you are lucky enough to get chosen as a match for someone, then most likely all you will need to do is the equivalent of giving blood. I really hope that your cousins wife finds a donor and does well. You can do that here.... www.anthonynolan.org/What-you-can-do/save-a-life.aspx
