I should think so - every part of my face used to ache when I used to get sinusitis!!

noddyholder · 23/12/2005 19:23

I have taken paracetomol and codeine for the pain but it hasn't worked any tips?

Yes, definitely linked. I suffer from sinusitis and my teeth and gums are always affected. It's awful. Are you able to take nurofen?

JonesTheSteamingSanta · 23/12/2005 19:27

I used to take extra strong ibuprofen, that always tended to work for me.

I know you can take paracetamol and ibuprofen together, but don't know about codeine.

Hope you feel better soon - I know how rotten it is and you have my sympathy.

noddyholder · 23/12/2005 19:28

I am not supposed to take nurofen on a regular basis but have been given it on isolated occasions for severe pain I have some do you think it will help

Can you take it with codeine?

noddyholder · 23/12/2005 19:29

Give it a go. I know how miserable this condition can be.

somethingsexyandLYcRAinmystock · 23/12/2005 19:30

i would recommend filling a bowl with boiling water, adding a few drops of olbas oil or eucalyptus oil, then leaning over with a towel over your head and breathing it in for as long as you can. it will kill bugs and ease congestion.

I'm not sure 'cos I never had antibiotics for sinusitis, but when I took them for tonsilitis they used to kick in after about 24 hours!!!

noddyholder · 23/12/2005 19:36

thanks all I am off to steam!

Misspiggy · 23/12/2005 19:49

Aww poor you - it's agony isn't it? If your steaming doesn't work then Sinutab should help as it will dry up all the "goo" that's causing the pressure in your sinuses. BTW, thanks for reminding me about Trinny and Susannah

We3kingsofOrinocoare · 23/12/2005 21:04

Thanks on two counts:

1 - for the tips on sinusitis - I've got a cold at the moment and I always get it after (do you think there is anything that you can do to prevent it?)
2 - For reminding me that Trinny and Tranny were on!
