was going to visit a friend who's wee baby has bronchilitus, but don't want to risk bringing it back home if it may be infectious. not taking dd's with me anyway, but could I catch/carry it?

It is caused by the RSV cold virus - so that is contagious but it won't necessarily cause bronchiolitis.

it is contagious. Dd2 had it when 4 weeks old was put in an isolated room in hospital but like LITZ says it won't necessarily cause bronchilitus but it may cause a cold or chest infection.

Not dangerous to you, when DS1 had it we were told to steer clear of anywhere with under 2's
