Spots and...

I have recently started getting bad spots around my jawline. I also have about 6 thick hairs that appear on my face near my chin (i have to pluck them out). I saw that these could be symptons related to polysistic ovaries. My periods were always every 28 days and now not so regular, ranging between 21 - 32 days. Does anyone know what could be causing this.

Sorry honey. No advice, but will bump for the evening crew

jalopy · 22/12/2005 19:51

Sounds very hormonal, bsg.

bsg · 22/12/2005 19:56

Thanks Kalexcelsis. It does sound hormonal but why would it happen.

I've started the spotty thing too (but thankfully not the hair).

How old are you?

bsg · 22/12/2005 19:57

I am 29

I am a migraine sufferer and have never been allowed to take the pill or the mini pill etc as it could cause a stroke. Do other people have these awful hairs then? I have only ever heard of women that are going through the menopause having them.

God they are awful aren't they. I sometimes run my hand over my face and can feel them, it makes me feel like a man with stubble. I actiually knew a girl who did have terrible facial hair that eventually she started shaving. The problem was that she would leave it sometimes and had a couple of days of stubble.

I was on the pill for years and no-one ever told me I shoudn't even though I suffer migraines - blimey.

Sorry bsg don't have any experience of this at a youngish age.

Perhaps you should see your GP or Family planning clinic

Yup - I've got them too - one on my chin, and several sprouting from a mole on my chin (makes me sound like some sort of witch, doesn't it). Don't have a hooked nose, warts or a broomstick though . I pluck them - although I've only just started plucking the ones in the mole, and I'm really pleased with the result versus having trimmed them every couple of days for goodness knows how long. Like Tipex says - the last taboo.

Mercy, when I have my migraines, one side of my body goes numb, etc. I really don't know why you were not advised not to take it but it obviously didn't do you any harm.

bsg · 22/12/2005 20:16

It is so easy to miss them.( like you say Tipex, you have to be in the right light to see them) If I can feel them when I am out, I automatically think that everyone can see them.

I forgot to mention Mercy, I live abroad and from what I can tell most of the women here have quite a lot of facial hair. Moustache waxing is very popular at the local hairdressers. I think if I went to the doctor here he would think I had lost the plot.
