HELP dd2 just woke up with a red rash, white blotches

she was up throught the night, i just assumed it was teething as has been the case recently, gave her calpol

she has red skin in her joints, ie elbow, knee, armpit, with white raised blotches

dont think she has a temp

dh thinks its a heat rash

dd2 is smiling and happy

has ANYONE got any idea what it could be please

Nailpolish, does she have a cold. This came up here recently, someone's child had a cold and a similiar rash. It was an urticarial rash that is common with viral illnesses.

I would just keep an eye but not worry if ahe has no other symptoms. children tend to be rashy!!

The conclusion was urticaria (hives) - probably as a result of a viral infection.

yes thats the ticket throckenholt - oh phew what a relief, dd2 must be the same and its just her cold

why do children do this to us??

He is fine now - piriton did the trick - he got had the rash 3 times over about 2 days.

yep - kids - dangerous to parents health.

Actually DH got it first, and someone else (adult) was posting here yesterday describing something similar - she was at work.

actually the rash was worst just at the top of his thighs - but thought I ought to crop the photo !
