yawn
in the last few weeks I have had
ds and dd with mixtures of tonsilitis, tummy bugs, and a cold, dd also hadd viral pneumonia and was laid out for 7 days in bed with temp of 40 deg plus. Coughing up blood etc - she is only 3, she had antbiotics and is fab again now.
I still have sinusitis, but shut up about it as it happens.
DP is fine, ds came hom from school today with sore throat and snot.
Last night Mum came aover and she has the flu, no bones she is pretty sick. High temp, sleepy
So pakc her up to the spare room, with flu remedy, hot toddy and water and juice.
This morning she declares
That dd was not as sick as her, so dd did not have the flu
Nor did I have it last week
She thinks it is avian flu now.
She is ill and I'm sorry but she is really getting on my tits.

I sympathise. Some people can't just be ill but feel they need to set up some sort of ill hierarchy with them at the top. Perhaps agree that yes, it probably is avain flu and that you should all stay away?

lol
Tell her that beacuse she is so ill and it could be avian flu that you are bound to do the right thing and call in the contagious disease experts and that she will probably face xmas in isolation in some far off hospital.

we are due to go to London to my brothers for xmas.
She can still manage to get down stairs for a fag though (outisde in my house thanks)
Am taking her to the docs so THEY can tell her she has the flu and will be fine.
She did say go and leave me alone for xmas
Hmmmm lucky she did not say that to dp

Sounds like my Mum! Nobody is allowed to be ill without her having a worse version!
I had the proper flu a couple of years back & was laid out for 10 days & all she kept saying was that she had the flu a couple of days before me. She didn't...she had a cold!!

If it helps my fil really really knows how to work a teeny tiny sniffle. He had flu like symptoms whilst he came to stay with us. The first I heard about it was loud groaning, and praying and declarations of near death..... I was terrified, so were both dd's who aren't used to raised voices, the old twat had me running round dancing attendance... Anyway he lived just (I restrained myself).
