Numb big toe...

FOr the last 6 months my right big toe has been numb (on the middle to outside). I don't wear heels, mainly trainers or long boots. Does anyone know what it might be or should I bite the bullet and go to the doc...

My dad had this - was a circulatory problem. He was a long-time heavy smoker tho'

My toes have numb bits too; also my elbows (pointy ends with v dry skin). I assumed it was normal - ish - isn't it? [panic]
