Cold sore

OK, so I've looked in MN history for help already but there's loads of ideas.

I have a cold sore. I never seem to get them "as soon as you feel the tingle" or whatever it is. It's there but is still tingling. Too late for Boots own brand Zovirax?

Others have said lavender or lemon or tea tree oil.

I am off to town in about 1/2hr.

I hate them. I get the same one right in the corner or my mouth when I'm run down.

Thanks.

My partner swears by high dose vitC - 1000-2000mg a day. I must say that they don't get worse, and clear up in about four or five days, but whether that's normal or not I don't know, since I've never had one/asked anyone about theirs!

I suffer with these damn things constantly. Zovirax has limited effect on me.The very very best cream I have found is called Fenestil which has pencyclovir in as opposed to Acyclovir (as in Zovirax). I find if a fairly generous layer is applied regularly it really does chase away the cold sore more quickly.

I like the patches because the healing is so much quicker and cleaner.
