Peyronie's Disease?

My DH is booking himself a GP appt. He went a couple of months ago because he had a dull ache when he had an erection. Now he has a visible bend, which did not used to be there. He's hoping for a referral as he thinks it may well be Peyronie's Disease.

Has anyone here had any experience of this?

I am so please that he's a sensible chap who will get it looked at rather than panicking denial.

Resurrecting this thread in the hope that somebody will know something about this disease. Im pretty worried, DH's penis is quite curved now and I'm afraid it will get worse. He's only 35 and of course Ive been googling and now Im really worried about worst case scenarios.

No personal knowledge of it, I have however been in theatre when they were straightened out.
Very simple and short surgery.

My DH's bend has got worse and worse. He was originally told to leave it a year and go back to the docs if it was worse. Well, it is much worse but there have been other more pressing issues so he hasn't been back. I'll remind him in the New Year.

That's what I'm afraid of Echo, just from googling I see that it gets worse over a 6-18 month period and then it stays like that forever it's really getting DH down and I'm worried it will get so bad it will affect us having any more kids there is surgery available but it's not gauranteed to work. Gah this is so stressful

It's horrid - you have no way of knowing how far it will progress. Some men get a kink and that's that. You try new positions and everything still works. Some men carry on bending and twisting. That's what's happened to DH. Luckily our family is complete. Does he go for surgery for something that is not life threatening? It's a tough call.

Thanks for replying eco there was a definite kink a few days, he didn't notice cos it was dark but he freaked out about a month ago when he noticed a slight curve , dreading next time cos I know he'll notice and be so upset. I'm 9weeks pregnant with DC 2 so sex isn't high up on our to do list but he's going to notice soon . I'm worried about the effect it will have on him mentally , when he had pain and no bend he was distraught, he said it was the worst thing that could happen him. he's going to be really upset feel like I'm carrying around this secret from him. If it keeps getting worse I'd imagine we'd opt for surgery, he's only 35 and I'm 31, I feel we're only starting out and we'd like 3 DC. How is your DH coping?

Don't forget that what you see when you google are the worst cases! TBH my DH has had other things to worry about over the past year. Sex is not on the agenda at all. You do need to talk to your DH though - it's not a secret for you to keep as he will have noticed that it's different. There is nothing you can do to stop it - so support him, encourage him to seek advice, then focus on baby... and just see how it progresses.
