Broken toes.......whats the likelihood?

About 10 mins ago I (stupidly) walked into the corner of the dresser in my kitchen. My 2 smallest toes on my right foot are bloody hurting now.

Do you think I could have broken the toes, or just will have bruised them? I did walk into the dresser with some force? I cant really walk on them and they are throbbing as we speak.

Anyone ever broken any toes before? And did you know straight away.

Just thought I would ask before I make a fool of myself at the hospital!

Sorry - have been so busy organising party!

I thought I would ring NHS Direct first to see if they thought I should go and get x ray - they took ages to ring back and when they did I was out (typically) and need to speak to me about it, so I need to call them back at some point! Its just been so hectic here.

Foot is still hurting, but am managing! Looks like it wont be until the new year now when I get it checked out!

Went to the hospital today and apparantly I did break a bone in my second from last toe!

I knew I had banged it really hard!

Anyway, it is healing up ok and will still probably hurt for a few more weeks!

I have 2 weeks worth of sympathy to catch up on now!
