How long can you keep antibiotics (amoxycillin) after you have collected it from chemist?

In other words can i wait and see for a while if ds gets better without them or will they be no good then?

i know, i should have waited before i got them from the chemist.
Thing is he has just had one lot and it didn't help, he was no better. Went back to the doc who suggested another course but had just told me it was probably viral and i think was trying to just get rid of me really.
Since we got home though he seems quite a lot better and doesn't look like a kid who needs antibiotics IMO.
so, was going to just wait a day or 2 to see because i don't like the idea of too much antibiotics.
so, you all think i should give him it then?
