The combined pill - a question

Not sure if this is in the right section but here goes.

Can anyone help me with the following query before I consult the doc.

I gave birth 10 weeks ago & have just started taking the combined pill (microgynon) this month. I haven't taken the pill since I was about 19 or so (now nearly 32).

I have about a weeks worth of pills to take before I am due to take my 'break' & have a period. However, I've started bleeding lightly today. I'm a bit surprised but wasn't unduly worried until DH flippantly said that 'maybe the pill isn't working properly for me'. He doesn't actually know what he's talking about but we have had sex once since I went on them & now I'm worried?!! Confused

Is this normal? Or should I ring the doc? Do I just keep taking the pill as normal until I reach the end of the pack & then take the break as scheduled.

Sorry if this sounds naive but I'm not very 'au fait' with the pill. As I say my last experience with it was over 10 years ago.

Hi, it is very normal to have breakthrough bleeding when first starting the pill, it happened to me. Keep taking them as normal until the break. Hth.
