Vaginal proplapse

Silly question but would a vaginal prolapse be obvious to the person taking a smear?

Those of you who have a proplapse how did you find out?

Hi lucy,
One of my antenatal friends was telling me about her VP. From what she described it would be fairly obvious to the woman herself never mind a person doing a smear!!
She hasnt been able or wanting to have sex at the mo, and has been told she needs to do lots of pelvic floor exercises for life....
If you are in doubt why dont you ask your GP to have a look?
