Been countless times to my GP with stomach pains, bowel problems, feeling sick and full. He keeps telling me its IBS and sending me home with tablets. This has been going on for 3 years!! Im tired and not getting any better. Im going this morning to demand a referral. They have only ever done basic blood tests and one for Coliec's.
This is TMI, but symptoms are:
Pain in bowel and now right side
Back pain (but not like muscle just a ache)
sick feeling
feeling full even when i havent eaten
Yellow and mucus diahorra
tired, oh so tired
bloating (I look about 4-6 pregnant!)
dizzy (not often and might not be linked)
and not feeling like i have finished after going for as poo.

Im so tired of it all, but need to be strong to demand a refferal. Im sure if i went every week they would refer me but I dont have time. I have 2 autistic kids and a dh with cancer, I just have to suck it up, but the pain is getting worse :(

I havent name changed (although considered it) as I dont see why I should be embarassed.

I will demand a referal, i will not take no for an answer!! help me stay strong please MN

How did it go Lisad?

lisad123 · 22/12/2011 10:39

Doc thinks its all linked with gallbladder removal. I have new meds to bind acids together and new diet to stick to. I'm hoping it works and just glad someone listened for once.

hi lisad123,

Did your consultant not suggest a colonoscopy?

lisad123 · 22/12/2011 12:49

no he didnt, i think he wanted to see if these drugs will work. Do you think he should have?

hi, i don't know, it just seems that everyone on the health thread that has bowel problems has or is going to have one. I've had ibs for more than 20 years and this year i had a really bad flare up lasting a good 5 months or so. Its settled down considerably now but i have health anxiety and my bowels have become a bit of an obsession.

My gp has suggested a colonoscopy but she did say she's 99.9% sure its nothing to worry about.

are you still having symptoms and what are they? Hope your new meds and diet works for you.

lisad123 · 22/12/2011 15:57

the symptoms are all the same as above on OP. Pain in right sode is quite bad atm

Hello again lisad - I've been thinking of you and wondering when you'd report back - so sort of good news that you felt the consultant was on side?
