DH is a chef and was splashed by hot fat on Thursday resulting in a couple of minor burns on his forearm. While he was working yesterday he knocked the blister off the top of the larger burn (It's about the size of a 5 pence but fairly deep) so he put a gauze dressing over it to protect it.
He's just come home and the burn is angry looking and the surrounding area is hot and hard to the touch, he says that he has pain all the way up his arm.
He's off work tomorrow so will go to the doctors first thing but what should he do with it overnight, should he cover it? put any antibacterial ointment on it? we have some iodine strips here from when he burnt himself previously (He is very accident prone) should we use them?
TIA :)
