Stair Lifts...OT has referred us for one, but said it can take years?!!!

The OT has referred my Dad for a Stair Lift and has marked it as urgent and he has a long term illness...she said that it takes ages for it to go through....she said about a year!

What have others experienced?

my parents bought a reconditioned one as they couldn't wait (no particular time was stated but they really needed to get my mum mobile after breaking her hip)
