Curds and whey in nappy????

Hi everyone
My 3 month old son started to have what looks like curds and whey in his nappy last week - clear liquid with cottage cheese like stuff in). He used to go once a day, and is now going every time he wakes up (with naps..that is a lot!!!)
The doctor said that they don't know what it is and they have never seen it before. The tests will take 10 days...which is too long for me when he is pooing so much - even though he seems really happy. He is on Aptamil...any ideas?

have you changed formula lately?

I found dd did some quite horrendous poos on any formula that contained bifidus-type ingredients (i.e. the expensive ones). possibly it's all part of the goodness, but I stuck the the cheap stuff because of it.

seem to recall they could have been described as curds and whey but can't rmember clearly - I think I have blanked it out!

No - he has been on the same formula since he was 4 weeks now and has been doing really well(tried bf but no luck there), which makes it even more confusing.
Not sure whether to try changing now or whether that would make everything worse.
