Dr says dd has this. She is constantly coughing, esp when she goes to bed and first thing in the morning esp atm as she has a cold too.

Anyone treated this successfully?

Unfortunately not - my DS still has one and he is 18 years old!

What about eucalyptus oil on her pillow - I read about that being successful and keep meaning to try it.

I am wondering if it could be asthma?

DS asthma started when he was a baby

His symptoms are coughing when he goes to bed and wakes up.

It is triggered by a cold or ear infection or any virus really

What do you think?

How old is she?

I had it a few years ago. My GP thought it was an allergy, maybe to house dust as it came on with the central heating - she gave me flixonase, which did seem to help. My father has it too, and used Chinese Medicine (to my huge surprise, not usually his thing) with excellent results. No idea if either of these would help with a child though....poor DD, its miserable, hope it eases when the cold goes away.

ps another gp thought it might be asthma related and gave me an inhaler - which had no effect at all, so in my case it wasn't.
