worrying toilet problem

DS2 has just informed me he has diahorreah, but he has a 'sausage in the middle of it that is all dark'. He has had worms before and assures me there's no worms. He feels icky and is in the shower. He is 9. Should I be worried?? He is.

why would you think it might be worms?

They are so tiny and white, they wouldn't show up as a dark sausage?

Is it just a hard lump of constipated poo within the diarrhea (sp)?

thanks vintage- obvious but didn't think of that. Must improve his diet I think.
