One of my boys is having a few problems that I need help with.

He is 23 months old(20 corrected) and 2nd twin. So different from his brother.

I had agood chat tonight with Loobie and also wanted advice from mnetters too.

Here goes.

My son although 3 months prem seemed to be doing ok, he came into this world with an apgar score of just 2 and was ventilated at birth. He turned out to be the strongest twin and also needed to have 2 blood transfusions. All was going well until Jan of this year.

He stopped breathing but thankfully ok, he is attending sick kids gastroenterology as he chokes on his food and always has.

His development is much slower than his twins- i hate to compare them but honestly he is way behind his brother. He is sooooo clumsy he can be walking around then bang he's on the floor, he has no instinct to out his hands out and stop himself and lies there for a wjile unless someone helps him up. It looks almost like he drags his left leg too. We are still awaiting our appt at the assesment centre with him.

His co-ordination is poor too and i find myself getting frustrated for him- yes i do shout too and i know i shouldnt i do try not too.

Any ideas what this could be?

Loobie may update you all on her perception of the wee man too = hopefully she will an yway as i aint good at writting down what i want to say

I have also posted on s/n secton too for advice

I have no idea what it might be. But just wanted to point you to the twinsclub forums - there are people there with twins that had a similar rough start and have residual problems (I was lucky - although small my twins seem to have no obvious developmental problems).

here

Hi, I'm also not sure but would suggest trying Bliss.org.uk - premature baby web site. DS1 was 9 weeks prem and I found this an invaluable resource. Good luck!
