my dd3 is crying when peeing. She is complaining when needing to go that it is going to hurt and is holding it till she can no longer, when she does go it stinks. Off to doctor first thing in morning but would like some idea what it could be

Cystitis probably (UTI)

Poor thing. How old is she?

Chummybud1 · 14/08/2011 21:15

They'll take a sample and test it there and then send it off

If it is an infection, she'll be given ABs

Thanks

My dd had this a couple of months ago. She ended up on antibiotics. Try and get your dd to drink lots of water/clear juice so that it dilutes her pee. Take the sample with you to the gp rather than relying on her doing it in the surgery, you can just take it in a clean yoghurt pot - scald it with water from the kettle first.
