Headaches

For the past few months I have suffered from an aching headache, for a few weeks it was constant at one side of my head and the exact same type of pain each time it came on. I then went for a short while with no headaches and then they came back only less frequent and less painful. I now get a mild headache every few days which is dealt with effectively by paracetamol. A few nights ago however I think I was awoken by a severe, sharp headache but it isnt that clear...it could have been a dream, Im not 100% sure but if I was awoken I never woke up fully or got out of bed.

I get headaches if I stay in bed too long in a morning also.

My uncle was diagnosed with a brain tumour 2 years ago and my own father died of a brain haemorage when I was 11 years old so naturally I am paranoid when I get headaches.

Any idea what this could be? I dont suffer from nausea or anything else and I can go for days with no headache at all...

Also, am I right in thinking that if it were something serious the headaches would be more painful? at the moment they're not that bad, just numb and 'nagging'.

with your medical history, i'd go to the doc to rule out anything sinister, and then get yourself to a good osteopath who knows stuff about heads and necks.

could be dehydration.... make sure you're drinking plenty of water.
also, regular use of paracetamol can cause headaches... it may be worth trying something else. Or try doing without anything (lie in a darkened room with a cool flannel on your forehead)

But, to put your mind at rest it may be worth seeing your GP...
