Could this be an infection?

Daft question, but, I don't know if I have an infection on my foot, and wouldn't you credit it, it happens on the weekend.

I wore some boots yesterday and they rubbed both feet just under the big toe going onto the ball of the foot, the right foot is fine, the blister is hurting, but nothing i can't handle, the left however is very very painful, my whole foot feels hot (not sure if I'm imagining it not iykwim) but I do know that it hurts to walk and there is a constant throbbing, the blister is 2" long and about 1/2 inch wide and the area round is quite red, its the pain more than anything that is making me wonder.

Has anyone got any tips or advice?
