Im so upset...

I am 37 weeks today, and one problem ive had is acid indigestion (Mainly at night) which Gaviscon has been more or less doing the trick.
Three times now however i have woke with liquid forcefully vomitting from my mouth. This is horrible, but last night it reached a new level- IT CHOKED ME! It was terrifying. I could not get any breath at all for i think at least 20 seconds or so (seemed like so much more) then i could get the tiniest bit and after a couple of minutes of gasping, returned to nomal. It was so frightening, and its left me scared to sleep now.
Should i see my gp? I cant imagine theres anything they can do...

I think you should definitely contact GP as a matter of urgency if it's to choking point. We can't diagnose you on line! You need a proper medical opinion.

Go see your GP. My DH suffers badly from acid reflux and is on prescribed stuff (can't remember the name and he's not here) which has helped enormously. There's stuff out there that's much better than Gaviscon.

My dp suffers with this and it's frightening. But there is something you can do - you can buy wedge pillows which raise your upper body. This should stop anything coming back up as you sleep and is supposed to really help. I'm trying to persuade dp to get one but he wants to see if giving up coffee and alcohol will help first (stubborn man emoticon). I imagine you're not having much of those at the moment though

Google GERD pillows. There are some for £25 online.

I get this, I have a hiatus hernia, and this is severe acid reflux. As long as I remember to take my omeprazole, it doesn't happen. Bloody scary when it does though!
