Any other advice for me

No advice for you but would be keen to know how much convincing your gp took to prescribe you this. I've got an appointment with my gp and want to ask her about going onto this but want to go armed with some knowledge.

Sorry can't help you but if you could give me any insight, I'd be grateful!

I had it for a while. Think it took about 2 or 3 days to start working and then you really know about it if you eat a fatty food.

jambuttie · 29/11/2005 22:45

Sparkly I went to docs as my weight is maintaining the same. Need to loose 1.5 stone to have my breast reduction. Didn't really need to convince him although he did make me see a dietician 1st.

Dietician also said she doesnt think it will do me any good as I don't have a high fat diet but I said I should decide and asked for it anyway. He gave it to me no problem.

So today is day 1 and I went to mcdonalds for lunch with the kids and had a baguette at work tonight for my dinner. Was a bit apprehensive as I thought I would shit for scotland excuse the pun. Thanks cadbury for informing me it does take a few days to work will be more aware now of my food intake

I got prescribed it but decided against taking it-as you have to take either just before, during or up to an hour after,it is no detereent for me-if I want to eat something fatty, I just won't take it!

jambuttie · 29/11/2005 23:13

i took them as planned today just not sure really if i need to change anything in my diet. i know i need to reduce the fat content i take in but how soon does weight come off etc

go for gfoods with 4g or less of fat in per 100g - i did orlistat and lost 2 stone which kicked started my body. I have a whole unpened box left over.

Fab stuff, if craving choc the allowance for me was 1 two finger kitkat a day

jambuttie · 30/11/2005 14:21

So I should notice a difference soon then?

Not instantly, and you do need to make those lifestyle changes too. Here's a link to a transcript of a programme I made on obesity

jambuttie · 02/12/2005 09:18

cheers for that so I now know I am taking them correctly which is good.
I honestly was expecting to have the runs badly after a meal and simply haven't, obviously my fat intake ain't that high for this to happen.

What I still need to now though is if my fat intake is not that high will these tablets still work?

Hi I know the last message on here was a long while ago now, but wanted to see if anyone who took it has seen good results from it. I keep asking my docs after months of blood tests for feeling very lethargic and they refuse until I lose 5 kgs on my own first! I told them my weight has plateaued but they wont budge!
