minimize scarring

just posted wrongly on AIBU and got told off but just looking for advice from people who used products to reduce scarring and promote healing on skin of my year old who had an absess sugically drained from her tummy as a result of chicken pox, home and doing well which is great but wound has yet to heal, i know about bio oil but have yet to hear if it does actually reduce scarring , just wondering thanks

I used this on my c-sec scar and also use it if I get a spot.

My DCs had the chickenpox vaccine but if they hadn't I would have used this to minimise scarring.

Vitamin e oil is supposed to be good for scarring

Discuss with your LOs surgeon what they recommend, for an older person cica gel sheets may be helpful but I don't know if these are suitable for kids.

HTH. I think it is v sensible to treat scar tissue carefully & not just for cosmetic reasons, good luck.

Bio oil is very good. I'd always used it with good results.
