Over active thyroid - any experience of this?

Just wondering if anyone knew anyone with it or even had this themselves?

I was diagnosed last week after a month where I could barely stand up and hoped it was just the cold I had being a particularly nasty straing.

No such luck. I feel like this is a life sentence from what I have read about it and I had hoped to try for another baby next year but I guess that is over (tick tock tick tock.)

I was orignally diagnosed with an over active thyroid gland about 15yrs ago. It changed soon after to be under active. I now take 125mg of thyroxine daily and lead a perfectly normal life. However on those days that I feel completely unmotivated I do wonder how much is due to my thyroid disease.

Thanks mug, I have wondered, reading the symptoms, how long exactly I have had it. The doctor asked if there were anyone in my family with it and my mother did have under-active but not anymore.

I just hope it goes away. I hate the thought of having to take medication or even worse surgery.
