A TMI question about mooncups

I just need to identify if my periods are heavier than normal but have been using a mooncup for a few years so can't use frequency of changing a tampon benchmarks.

So if you use a mooncup and feel like sharing info could you please tell me how often your mooncup is completely full? In the first 3 days of my period I would estimate that my mooncup is full about 6 times over, so say emptying it when it is half full 12 times. Is that about normal? Bleeding tails off after that.

Apparently the average bleeding for a period is 30 - 40 ml and blood loss over 80ml (4 and a half teaspoons) is considered heavy, but I think it is confusing to try to measure as you don't just lose blood do you?

I think mie fills up around 4-5 times in the first 2-3 days (so around 15 times in total) and then begins to tail off.

My periods are pretty heavy though.

I don't think you need to worry about the average, unless your periods have suddenly changed dramatically in terms of flow.

I need to determine if my periods are heavy because I'm being investigated for something where the main symptom is heavy periods, and I've always blithely said no to the question are your periods unusually heavy. But sitting thinking about it I wonder if they are, hence me starting the thread.

TMI but I emptied my mooncup at 9.20, just checked again and it was full to just under the 15mls line. That would be in 2 and a half hours and I'm on day 3. In relaity I wonder if I'm bleeding more than I have relaised.

I wish I'd noted details from day one this cycle but didn't know about abnormal blood tests until yesterday and bloody typical but I now won't have a normal period for a few months as I'm on hormones to thin the lining of my uterus in advance of an op in a few weeks, so I can't make notes for a while.

God my typing is awful. Reality and realised.

For Day 3 that does seem quite heavy to me. My docs also told me I had heavy periods, I think the mooncup disguises that somewhat, as it can go longer than a tampon before it needs changing.

A full cup is 7.5mls.

I have heavy loss with clots and can empty upto 10 a day for 3/4 days then it reduces till day 10 when it is all but finished.

Can easily loose 250/300mls each month, thankfully don't get aneamic.

Sorry meant full cup 15mls, got distracted by cat throwing toy mouse at me.

I tend to empty before it gets fully full as i get seepage from airholes so need to use liner in early days / or many pairs of undies to hand.
