After years of niggling back and sciatic pain, my right leg went absolutely crazy about 4 weeks ago to the point that I will not drive or indeed even sit in a car. BIL is a physio and has tried his best as have the local GPs. Through BUPA I saw an orthopedic consultant on Fri who arranged an MRI which showed up a prolapsed L5 disc and upped my medication. I was on 30/500 Cocodamol, Diclofenac, Amatriptalyne and Diazapam if required and moved to Oxycontin and Beclafen as I have been getting very little relief lately. Problem is that I have had about 2 hours sleep per night since as extremely intense spasms kick in when I lie down. Today the out of hours dr has changed it to double the previous dose of Oxycontin and has added Lyrica while dropping all the others. Am at my wits end. Has anyone else experienced this. BTW am going for an injection in my back which should help for around a fortnight and if this fails my only option is surgery. Please can someone reassure me that I might get to sleep again one day?? Apologies for rambling nature of post but I can barely see never mind compose a sensible sentence... Thank you if you have perservered with this post.
